Black Enterprise Magazine has ranked Creative Tutors #12 of forty top franchises for African Americans in its September 2010 issue.

Creative Tutors Named a Military Friendly Franchise

Jan Van Blarcum, is the founder of Creative Tutors and a child of an Army Veteran. Jan’s husband Bill is also a part of the armed forces and is a Reservist Navy Captain in the JAG Core. We are proud to announce that Creative Tutors has been accepted into the G I Jobs Military Franchise Program. Only 10% of the franchise industry has been asked to participate. Military Veterans are twice as likely to operate their own business as non veterans are, according to census data. In fact, one in seven businesses is owned by a military veteran. Creative Tutors is proud to support our armed forces and participate in assisting Veterans in their desire to become small business owners. When Jan Van Blarcum started Creative Tutors 4 Kids International Inc. in 1999, she set out to meet the educational needs of all children, no matter how they learn. She discovered that, while many of her students could pay for the tutoring service, there were still many who could not. She soon started Creative Learning 4 Kids, a nonprofit dedicated to provided tutorial services to students with financial need.
